Welcome to our highly-specialized Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) outpatient center in Delafield, WI.
What sets us apart?
Our team of compassionate, non-judgmental therapists are highly trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and our director, Lisa Herpolsheimer, completed her DBT training though the prestigious Marsha Linehan PhD Training Institute Behavioral Tech. the "gold-star" of real, official DBT training. Lisa provides clinical supervision and direction on the care of all participants at Wise Mind DBT. We also use the Official DBT Manuals from Dr. Linehan in our care. (Dr. Linehan is the founder of DBT).
Our therapists engage in ongoing continuing professional education in complex clinical care, including intensive courses in DBT, as well as the treatment of complex clinical trauma, and care for individuals suffering from mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive compulsive disorder.
Our clinical team possesses over 36 years of combined direct clinical care experience in provision of psychotherapy.
Our team believes in the inner strength and resilience of each participant that comes to work with us in their journey toward achieving increased emotional regulation, peace of mind, and building meaning in their lives. We work collaboratively with participants, meaning we work "WITH" you not "AT" you. We balance a key concept in our dialectical behavior therapy care which is the dialectic of balancing ACCEPTANCE AND CHANGE. This means these two seemingly opposite ideas can be equally true and valid and co-exist. We fully accept you as you are right now and believe you truly are doing the best you can, AND we offer change and growth strategies through teaching you the official DBT skills for managing your emotions and life in a way that is more effective toward your goals, that is safe, and helps you to improve your relationship with yourself (self-compassion) and your relationship with others.
